Tell me a bit more about the house, park and gardens
In 1795, the eccentric 4th Earl of Bristol created this equally eccentric house. Ickworth is built in a magnificent Italianate Style on an awe inspiring scale. Ickworth House is full of internationally important art, including works by Hogarth, Titian, Velazquez and Vigče Le Brun, as well as important collections of Georgian silver and Regency furniture.
Today visitors can enjoy the splendid Italianate gardens and enjoy exploring the 1800 acres of parkland a woods. There’s a trim trail to keep you fit and a family cycle route taking in the best bits of the park, such as St Mary’s Church and our very own Vineyard in the walled garden.
In the West Wing is our stunning contemporary restaurant specialising in high quality, locally sourced and seasonal foods. Also in the West Wing is our thoroughly tempting boutique gift shop, with exclusive National Trust gifts and a great range of produce and crafts from all over Suffolk and East Anglia.
