Tell me more about West Stow
The unique reconstructed Anglo-Saxon Village at West Stow is built on an original settlement site occupied between AD 420 - 650. The hall and houses give visitors the opportunity to touch and experience Anglo-Saxon buildings as we imagine them to have been. It is one of only a few settlements from this period to have been fully excavated and extensively studied.
The reconstructed Anglo-Saxon Village was established years ago and today offers more than ever to families, schools, academics and anyone who is looking for an interesting day out!
As well as the houses to explore, there is now a specially built centre which displays the rare and beautiful finds from West Stow and other local Anglo-Saxon archaeological sites. The Village also now includes an introductory video and farming project.
A full programme of exciting events including costume re-enactments, workshops and demonstrations. With a café, new adventure playground, shop, nature trail and outstanding wildlife all on site, there really is something for everyone.
School visits and other group are welcome if booked in advance and discounts apply.
